Networking is enabled and if I choose to boot my Dell Inspiron from the network I do see some activity on the card but none in Linux. I beleive XFree version 4. I finally solved the problem by using the b44 driver and not only blacklisting wl but uninstalling bcmwl and broadcom- sta-common. Any suggesiont of where or what too look for to further this would be great.

Hi, brcm is your ethernet driver, that is the driver for the wired connection b43,bcmwl are wireless drivers this should start your brcm ethernet driver. I solved moving this file to Desktop and after a reboot the network card works fine. I’m running Slackware 8.
